Amazing service from start to finish
I truly cannot recommend Timing is Everything highly enough. Ray was absolutely wonderful from start to finish and went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was everything we wanted. Not only was he extremely responsive, professional, and helpful, but it seemed like nothing could phase him. From helping us switch to an all Latin cocktail hour playlist a week beforehand, to allowing my husband to decide his mother-son dance song *the day of the wedding*, Ray's balance of laid back and professional will put any couple at ease during the stress of wedding planning. Seriously, just go with Timing is Everything!

We cannot say enough about DJ Ray Der, from Timing is Everything! Our wedding was 10.21.23. We had a small, intimate wedding. Ray was referred to us by our planner. Admittedly, I was anxious that our wedding had the potential to be boring because it was so small. Let me tell you, Ray got the party STARTED and it didn't end until we had to turn the music off! Ray was professional from our first email til the end of the wedding. Truly a great MC/DJ. The ceremony music was sheer perfection. We gave him a small list of "must plays" for the reception, then let him choose the rest. Everything was perfect! Thank you!

I heard about Timing is Everything from the coordinator of the Engineer's Club in Baltimore. I needed a DJ that would be diverse due to the varied ages and backgrounds of the people in our department and boy did he deliver. From start to finish Ray's song selection was appropriate. It was inclusive and he had everything from jazz to Beyonce. Everyone truly enjoyed themselves!
Our experience with DJ Mark
We hosted a graduation party for my daughter and it was amazing. He was really attentive to the music we wanted being that we are Hispanic. Everyone was dancing the entire time that he played. Before the party he did ask us details in what we wanted and liked which I really felt that he was attentive to my party. We really enjoyed ourselves and felt that he cared to make our party the best. I would definitely recommend him to others and will book him again!

We connected with Ray at our first meeting to talk about the wedding. We absolutely Loved his personality and knew we wanted him to DJ/MC this very special day for our daughter and her fiance Michael. He was super helpful with the choosing of some of the special songs, and very available for questions leading up to the wedding. At the wedding he was professional and fun! Best Decision
Hiring Ray was the best and one of the most important decisions I made for the wedding. I'm a music snob and knew that the music would make or break the fun/feel of the wedding. I spoke to 7 other DJs before deciding to hire Ray. As soon as I spoke to him, I immediately liked his style and professionalism. He offered some suggestions to the timeline based on his experience and gave us some options other than the "traditional" flow. I sent him a list of requested songs and "do not play" songs and he respected all of them. In addition to ensuring the music to the ceremony was coordinated properly, he did a fantastic job with the introductions at the reception and the music was cued up perfectly. I had some very specific song choices/versions and he was able to accomodate them all! Not only were his song choices wonderful (he had everyone dancing-- young and old!) but he was an excellent emcee. All of my guests said it was the best wedding every and that's due in large part to Ray!! He made it so fun!

Graduation Pool Party
The whole team was great! Ray was so easy to work with and schedule a pool party for graduation. He was flexible on dates and timing when the plans kept changing. We held the event on June 10th and Chris was our DJ. He was perfect - kept the kids entertained and reigned them in when we needed it. I would definitely hire them again.

We searched for several local wedding DJs in the Baltimore area and were immediately impressed by how personable and straightforward Ray was. He scheduled us to first meet in order to get to know him and how he operates, and I could tell he was not only a cool guy but also was very experienced in being a DJ. He gave us advice on things to plan for that we honestly had not even thought of (things like the order of who should be saying their speeches).
During the day of the wedding, things went excellently. There were some unanticipated issues that arose (things that will always happen and will likely happen to your wedding as well!) but Ray was very good at adjusting for those issues. He made last minute adjustments easily to make the whole day smooth. I highly recommend his services and really enjoyed working with him.

From the first phone call to the last dance, Ray’s service was 5 star! We had a wide range of ages and music preferences and he had everyone on the dance floor the entire night. He guided me through the process and allowed me to customize if I chose. I ended up running out of time and put all of my trust in him… I wish I would have just done that in the beginning. He was phenomenal and his music made the entire night perfect. I received so many phone calls about him after the wedding and would recommend him to anyone at any age!

DJ Ray is awesome. For starters, he was recommended by our venue. And then our photographers recommended him. So we met him, liked him, and hired him basically on the spot. No other interviews necessary.
When we had to push our wedding back a year (thanks, COVID!), he was totally fine with it. And then when we finally got to our wedding, he kept the party going the entire time. Our guests could not stop raving about how good the music was, how there was such a fun mix of songs, and how we had a straight up dance party, which is the only thing I wanted from our wedding in the first place! Ray at Timing is Everything was extremely helpful, communicative, and understanding of our particular preferences. He was also very polite and friendly in all our interactions. When our original DJ didn't work out, he almost immediately located another DJ for us who matched our vibe and understood exactly what we wanted for our event. Perfect Day
We got married on Sept. 5, 2021 and had Lou as our DJ. He was so professional and attentive and made sure that everything went as planned. He made the night fun by carefully selecting from our play requests which song worked when. I also want to say that it was a daytime wedding and the volume was accordingly tasteful. We were able to enjoy our cocktail reception without having to yell over the music, but we could still hear it well. I would definitely recommend Timing is Everything to anyone looking for a DJ for any event!

The best DJ! But so much more than just a DJ
From the very first phone conversation with Ray he put my mind at ease and I knew he was the perfect DJ for our wedding. I simply can not say enough great things about Ray of Timing is Everything Entertainment. Every single interaction with Ray was an absolute pleasure. Our first meeting was more professional than I would have ever expected. He came fully prepared to answer any questions, go over any concerns and make us feel completely at ease. Music at a wedding is everything, we knew immediately we were in good hands. We had many changes from venues to times given all the crazy Covid mess. Of all the worries we went through, the music was never one. Ray was accommodating to all of our changes and really reassured us everything would be fine. Ray made the time to come to our rehearsal, he even brought a mic for the Officiant who didn't have her own. He was very friendly with all of our other vendors.
Ray also has a great personality which made it fun for us to work with him. He always has a smile on his face and is pleasant to be around. He kept the party going the WHOLE TIME from the first dance to the last... He read the crowd and did his thing. I can honestly say without a doubt (after being to many weddings) I would not want anyone else for the job! Thank you so much!

This is our 1st review, but 2nd time using Timing is Everything and Ray Der for our wedding reception needs. From the excellent service and reception (friends til tell us it was the best wedding reception "party" they'd ever been too) Ray provided us 6 years ago, we knew to reach out to Ray for our daughter's wedding. Because of covid, the elaborate 150 person event that was planned became a small 30 person immediate family and few close friends wedding and reception in our yard. Ray put us in the excellent hands of Chris Luciano and we could not have been more pleased. We knew working with Ray and Chris, we had one less thing to worry about for Emily's big day. We worked with Chris on the timeline and gave him a list of suggested songs...but of course all that changed as the evening went on and Chris never missed a beat. He perfectly blended all the 'requests' he was getting to keep the dancefloor (ie: our deck) crowded with dancing. Once again, Timing is Everything has helped make our reception "one for the books!"

Awesome 80th birthday party for my Aunt!
Mike did an amazing job DJing for my Aunt’s 80th birthday party Saturday, April 27th. He accommodated our wide range of ages with a great mix of oldies and new. He was attentive to my Aunt's favorite songs, playing Neil Diamond here and there throughout the night. He was especially patient with our last-minute coordination of children games. AWESOME JOB! My Aunt was so thrilled and said it was more fun than she ever imagined.

The Best in the Business
Prior to meeting DJ Ray Der of 'Timing is Everything Event Entertainment', we weren't totally convinced that we needed a DJ for our wedding reception. We were under the impression that we could easily cue up a setlist on cousin Geoffrey's iPod and let the music do the work for us. But after meeting with Ray, that illusion was utterly shattered. Ray was warm and professional and had a slew of documents ready for our review. He ran us through sample timelines and asked questions about dozens of small-but-significant details that we hadn't even considered. He was able to answer our questions about everything from cake cutting to reception length to lighting placement. He made terrific recommendations for the arrangement of our schedule and gave us realistic ideas of what to expect from each leg of the day. When we left for the night, he encouraged us to meet with other DJ's and to contact him if we felt he was the best fit. Although we did meet with a few others - all of whom were talented and professional - we knew from that first night that Ray Der was the only DJ for us. He met with us two more times leading up to the big day, each time armed with more questions and answers about each of the particulars that would make the day our own. He joined us at our (weeknight) rehearsal to introduce himself to the parents and the wedding party and to survey the venue. Come the wedding day, he arrived hours ahead of schedule and had everything set and ready to go for the reception almost two hours before the ceremony. He carried us smoothly from one leg of the day to the next and kept the energy up. Our dance floor was never empty for a moment, and we are told that he even stayed an hour after our departure to keep the party going for our family and friends who wanted to continue dancing. We cannot say enough about Ray and the monumental impact that he had on our day. We were blessed to have found him and we were so thankful for the multiple roles that he took on for our benefit. We couldn't have asked for a better emcee.

We were just married last weekend and Ray was excellent throughout the ceremony and reception! We were so impressed with Ray when we first met him and throughout the time leading up to our wedding that we were not even worried about how he would be one bit! Ray was recommended to us through a family friend. We met him at a Restaurant to meet him and interview him to DJ our wedding. Ray immediately put our minds at ease. He laid everything out in front of us, and even brought up several items we didn't even think about. He reassured us that he would handle all of the little details about our night, and that we wouldn't have to stress about anything. It was an easy decision to hire him, highly professional, great personality, and very experienced. I must admit following that evening at the restaurant he had a tall order to fill with the expectations that he set for himself and I was very excited to see how he would perform on our big day.Our wedding day. Ray totally blew us away. a true professional and marksman of his trade. My groomsman and I watched him set up his equipment and were amazed by the attention to detail he possessed. From testing microphones and giving me (the groom) a pep talk, to walking each corner of the property to do sound tests. I could tell he took his job seriously. Ray kept every part of the evening on time, even ahead of schedule. Our families are difficult, and he had no problem stepping in to keep things organized and on par with all of our requests and specifications for the evening. DJ or wedding planner? Still confused on that part. He killed it! We didn't give him much input in terms of what kind of music to play so in a way he had creative freedom. His playlist was awesome! everyone had a blast. He was extremely interactive with our crowd constantly keeping our guests laughing and dancing. I received too many compliments to count about the wonderful time everyone who attended had, and about Ray himself. He honestly made our wedding night a dream come true. I could not imagine having a better experience with a DJ and I would recommend Ray and his services to anyone. you will not be disappointed!

Ray Knows the Way
Ray scheduled a meeting at a restaurant for us to discuss the wedding day and what we were looking for. He then got a call with us before the wedding to make sure the flow and song selection (genre) was what we wanted. This gave us peace of mind on that front going into the wedding day.Ray then showed up at least 3 hours before the wedding to begin setting up. Making sure all the sound and audio was tuned to where he needed it to be. I also DJ'd for about 15 minutes at our wedding and he couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. Great MC and even better at keeping the dance floor rocking for 2.5 - 3 hours... which isn't an easy task. Highly recommend... Thanks Ray!

Ray is just an amazing person to work with! He is professional, prompt, energetic, happy, easy to talk to, and his DJ skills are everything we wanted for our wedding and more. We asked Ray to to be our DJ on short notice for our wedding reception. We had no idea what the responsibility of a DJ entailed, but after our first meeting with him we knew he'd be an essential part of our special evening. From the initial introductory meeting to the last song played Ray was professional and FUN! With his experience and skills he was able to make our wedding reception flow smoothly from the first dance, dinner service, cake cutting, and dancing- He can read your crowd and play music to keep your dance floor flooded with happy guests. When our FOUR TIER cake fell over, without hesitation, Ray went to a local bakery and picked up cupcakes. He litterally went the extra mile and he truly understands that 'Timing is everything'. Thank You!!!
Ray is fantastic at what he does and very professional, I would highly recommend him for a wedding or any other event. He is highly experienced with weddings and makes sure that he communicates with all other vendors and coordinators to make sure the day runs seamlessly. :)
6/2/18 I hosted a 50th Anniversary celebration for my in-laws. Ray gave me a more than fair price and put me in direct contact with my DJ, Chris. Chris was wonderful throughout the event. He kept in constant contact with me to make sure all my needs and wants were occurring. He also did a great job of serving as an MC for the night! Thanks a million and I will be back if I need a DJ in the future!
My coworker recommended Ray without me even asking for a suggestion - so right away, I knew he must be amazing! Ray scheduled an initial meeting with my then fiance and me to go over everything and answer any questions. He had us pick a time and location that was convenient for the two of us. We liked him immediately - Ray is exactly who you want running the show at your wedding - experienced, funny and personable! It didn't take long for us to know we needed to book Ray immediately for our May 11 wedding! After signing our contract - we managed to see Ray at a few local charity 5K events where he was DJing. It was great to run into him and see how great he was at those events! On the day of - he helped keep things running smoothly, helped the bridal party line up and kept the dance floor going!
We hired Ray Der and his DJ Gage for our daughters sweet 16 and honest,y, it could’ve gone better! Ray was professional and friendly and DJ Gage was fantastic! We were so happy start to finish and highly recommend Ray Der and his team!

Dean with Timing is Everything DJ's our wedding on 10.20.17 at Mountain Branch and was amazing!! He met with us in advance and also right before the wedding to go over all music, details, timing etc!! He handled everything beautifully and truly made our big day a special one! He was right on point with everything we asked for, kept us on schedule while we were busy enjoying the day and the moments ...and boy did he keep the party going at the reception!! Not only did we love him but we received so many compliments on the music and fun time had by all of our guests!! I would highly recommend!!
Ray was the DJ for our wedding this past September and he did an amazing job! He was very organized, helpful, and so professional! Our reception was held outside under a tent and before the wedding Ray met us at the residence and gave us so many great tips. He was confident and made us feel relaxed when planning became stressful! He was so wonderful to work with and I recommend him highly for any event! One of our biggest concerns for the reception was that everyone would dance/have a great time and Ray did an awesome job of reading the crowd and playing songs to keep everyone on the dance floor. Ray Der is absolutely the best! Not only as a DJ but most importantly as a person. Meet with him, talk with him and you will know exactly what I am writing. Ray is the only choice. It was exactly one year ago today (4/1/2017) when my Finance (now awesome, beautiful and loving Wife) said our “I Do’s” to each other and we would do it all over again. But… We wouldn’t do it without Ray! Prior to Our Wedding Day (and on our Wedding Day) Ray was excellent. Meeting. Preparing. Planning. Executing. Ray excels in every aspect. With all we had to worry about, the one thing we did not have to concern ourselves with was Ray, his Team and the job performed. Thanks again Ray!

We hired Ray for my husbands 60th birthday celebration. Our 70's theme party came alive the minute the music started. Ray made the 70's modern and so much fun!! Everyone danced all night long. So many of our guests reached out saying it was the best party they have ever been to. Can't thank you enough Ray.
Ray was an awesome and essential part of our wedding! He provided guidance and help with choosing songs for both the ceremony and reception, was prompt and attentive, and brought great equipment and made sure everyone was mic'd up for the ceremony. He got to know our personalities a bit, and was really good with introductions and making sure the reception flowed seamlessly, but was also really good about keeping attention on the reception and not on himself. He was also really good with our guests, who thought he was awesome! Above all, he had a great feel for which songs to play and when, in order to get and keep the party going strong until the end of the night. He made it a really fun event for us and our guests. We would recommend him very highly to anyone!
Ray is extremely professional, flexible, and a very good value. In all fairness, I've never had another DJ so I don't have a lot to compare him to, but we did not have a single complaint. He kept our wedding party in order, pronounced every name perfectly, and (most importantly) had a nice read on the crowd in terms of what to play and when. Ray was great to work with and he's a 5 in every category I can think of.

Ray was the perfect choice for our wedding. He was recommended by a friend and we could not have been happier with him. He met with us 6 months prior to our wedding to get a feel for what services we wanted and really took the time to get to know us and what we wanted. He called a week before the wedding to go over all of the paperwork and to be sure he had all the requested songs and names correct. He did the best job of announcing everything at the reception without being over the top. Ray played all of the songs I specifically requested, and nothing that I did not. Multiple people came up to me during and after the wedding and commented on how amazing the music was and what a professional Ray is. He kept the party alive and people on the dance floor for the entire reception. I cannot recommend Ray enough! I also think that his pricing is extremely reasonable, considering how much work and effort he puts into each event and what an amazing job he does. Ray is the best!
Ray was fantastic for our wedding day! My friend who also got married at Mountain Branch, had Ray as her DJ so I go the contact information from her. He was really great to work with and very professional. He suggested songs and music when we needed help. He called the week before the wedding to go over everything and name pronunciations since he introduces the bridal party. I would highly recommend him for any DJ needs!
Ray! Ray! Ray! He was the PERFECT DJ for my Dad’s 75th surprise party! We had a unique theme for the party— and Ray played right along, offering song suggestions during planning and cueing up the perfect songs the night of the celebration. Ray was truly spectacular— a true professional in so many ways! He played every song on our must play list and made all of our guests with varying ages have an excellent time. The dance floor was hopping and he kept the tunes going until our venue kicked us all out. Ray is the reason the party was such a fantastic, fun success! Ray Der was absolutely amazing on our wedding day!! Ray was recommended to my husband and I by our venue, Mountain Branch Golf Club. Our wedding coordinator there had a list of DJs but raved on about Ray. We knew right away we had to try and book him! Ray was very professional with the entire process. We had our first meeting with Ray where he went over the outline of our wedding and he gave us a detailed, organized form for our song choices for the different parts of the wedding. Ray basically laid out our entire wedding ceremony and reception for us. He talked us through everything at the meeting and even gave us suggestions from weddings he had worked. After our meeting, he was quick to get back to me with any questions I had through email. We were not sure about certain song choices, for example, the ceremony music, but Ray had plenty of great suggestions and we made our decisions based on his suggestions. He called us a week before to go over all of our final decisions and discuss any other questions we had. The day of the wedding he was there early and set up and ready to meet with us before the ceremony. He had the schedule for us and informed our bridal party of what they had to do. He was perfect! The guests loved how he took any requests and he was an energetic entertainer! Everyone enjoyed him!! Thanks Ray!
Amazing DJ and event coordinator. I first heard Ray deejay at The Greene Turtle in White Marsh the night before Thanksgiving, and I knew I HAD to get him to deejay my wedding! Ray kept everything on track for my wedding and accommodated all of my crazy music requests. I have highly recommended him every time I am asked who my wedding DJ was. Even after my 3rd year of marriage, while at a friends wedding (who also used Ray), he threw me a shout out and played mine and my husband's first dance song! Such a talented guy, and, what a sweetheart!! <3
